The Light Up The Queen Foundation is dedicated to the success of the Queen Theater in Wilmington, Delaware and to raising funds for community programs in arts and music education.
On Feb. 29, 2020, the 9th annual Shine A Light concert featured top music of 1980, the year I was a college freshman.
Over 40 of Delaware’s best musicians performed for 3 straight hours, rotating on and off stage with barely minutes between songs. It was an awesome show!

On March 4, 2023, over 60 local artists rocked the music of 1983, the year I graduated college from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
Once again, thanks to my friend Andrea allowing me to help with concert preps in the morning, I enjoyed the show from the pit in front of the stage. Over 3 hours of music was more than my phone battery could handle, so I missed grabbing clips of several iconic hits including ‘Come On Eileen’ and ‘Hey Mickey’!

On March 2, 2024, the concert featured top music of 1984. I had spent the first half of that year cruising the Pacific Ocean as a 22 year old Naval Officer and the second half settling in to the San Francisco Bay Area with 2 of my shipmates.
